Friday, January 30, 2026. As a follow-up to its active participation in the 6th International Conference on Sustainability in Technological, Environmental, Legal, Management, Social, and Economic Matters in Malaysia, the Faculty of Law of Djuanda University (FH Unida) continued its agenda of expanding its international academic network through a visit to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This activity is a strategic initiative to deepen institutional collaboration within the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the field of interdisciplinary research and scientific development across national borders.
Deputy Dean of FSSK UKM, Prof. Madya Azlan Abbas, representing the Dean, emphasized the significance of this visit as a strategic foundation for strengthening institutional relations. He highlighted the shared vision of both institutions in addressing social, humanitarian, and legal issues and emphasized that FSSK UKM's commitment to interdisciplinarity will foster the convergence of legal analysis and socio-humanities approaches as a basis for meaningful collaboration.
The Unida Faculty of Law delegation, represented by Dr. Aal Lukmanul Hakim, S.H., M.H., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, and Muhamad Aminulloh, Vice Dean for Non-Academic Affairs, were officially received by the leadership of the Faculty of Law Student Activity Unit (FSSK UKM), along with several senior lecturers and researchers. The opening session established a constructive academic dialogue forum discussing the convergence of legal disciplines with social and humanities perspectives.
The discussion focused on current issues in the Southeast Asian region, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the complex challenges of sustainability, public policy, and societal dynamics.
The focus of the visit was a structured discussion to design sustainable research collaborations. Both parties conducted in-depth explorations of potential joint research, collaborative scientific publication mechanisms, lecturer and researcher exchange schemes, and student involvement in international research projects. There was an understanding that this cross-disciplinary and cross-jurisdictional collaboration is not only necessary but also an academic imperative to address increasingly multidimensional global issues.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Law Unida not only strengthens its academic standing and visibility globally but also significantly opens up opportunities for ongoing collaboration with one of Malaysia's leading universities. This visit reflects the Faculty's institutional commitment to promoting the quality of research and community service through global partnerships, which are ultimately expected to have a significant impact on the development of science and practical solutions at the community level.
